The Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and Other Health Professions (CAAM-HP) is a well organised legally constituted council established in the year 2003. This council is ruled by the Caribbean Community (also known as CARICOM) and has been empowered to prescribe, determine and then accredit the prevailing
medical programs in the various medical institution. These programs would be ranging from medical, veterinary, dental and related health professional education taught at various institutes in CARICOM.
CAAM-HP has been authorized to provide the assurance of quality to all the principal stakeholders, graduating students
and the general public.
51²è¹Ýapp recently participated in a workshop organised in Trinidad & Tobago. It gives us great honour to announce that we have made all the preparation to register for CAAM-HP accreditation. Our faculty members and students have worked really hard to ensure that all the requisite details are in place and lay a secure foundation
for the upcoming generations.
Our Associate Dean Dr Torrington had recently participated in the workshop for Capacity Building held on 25th-26th July in Trinidad & Tobago. In this workshop, the authorities have confirmed that LAU is well equipped with all the requirements necessary for CAAM-HP accreditation.
51²è¹Ýapp will soon be one of the few Universities in the Caribbean Islands to receive the CAAM-HP accreditation. The major objectives of CAAM-HP accreditation for Medical Institutions in Caribbean region is to ensure that all the medical programs meet the prescribed set standards and evaluate for self-improvement
periodically.
